“The highlight of my son’s week. He loves being able to contribute ideas to everything they do. A unique group that’s lots of fun and provides plenty of opportunities”

TYCP is not just a drama school….
Developing creativity within young people, providing opportunities to experience theatre and the arts, and supporting them in producing their own exciting work!
The TYCP aim is to provide a happy, stimulating and supportive environment. A place where people are free to express themselves and experiment in the creative arts. We pride ourselves on being a drama and creative arts school where everyone is welcome and respected, where we expect and celebrate high standards and we nurture students’ self-esteem on a journey of self-discovery.
Our mission at TYCP is to give children and young people the opportunity to experience as many theatre and creative arts forms as possible. This is accomplished through:
– Meeting, witnessing and working with professionals
– Trying new art forms, learning new skills
– Producing their own work for professional events
– Making lifelong friends with similar interests
– Building confidence and enriching their lives
– Encouraging young people to be proud of and to take an interest in the local community
– Encourage young people to produce work for their local community
– Providing young people with opportunities to start building their cvs and consider possible career opportunities
The Young Creatives Portsmouth is investing in the next generation of creatives. It is fast becoming a local benchmark for what a young person can achieve, recognised by local businesses and organisations able to provide these young people with opportunities that can enrich their lives.
A large part of TYCP is to source opportunities for young people to share their creativity within their local community at a level that they can really feel proud of. Past events have included performing at The Victorian Festival of Christmas, the Southsea Show, The Kings Theatre Open Day, taking part in the Portsmouth Festivities film FACES, Albert Roads Daisy Chain Festival and more.
We also take trips to watch local and touring professional companies at work, take part in workshops and volunteer for local events.
Are you a local businesses, organisations or the brains behind an event? You may be able to provide an opportunity that can enrich young lives! We are always looking for opportunities for our young creatives to create work, if you have an event large or small please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how we can get them involved.
